11 Americans will be traveling to Uganda, arriving September 7 and staying through September 23, 2016. Six of us -- Lisa, Dave, Roger, Dave, Karen, and Sue -- are veterans; the other 5 -- Nena, Nancy, Sheryl, Ellie, and Larry -- are newbies. We are all, however, equally excited!

The team met yesterday (August 6) for a final training session -- clarifying team roles, planning the agenda (it's jam-packed!), discussing our expectations and concerns, and packing gifts we will be taking to the orphans. A main push for this trip will be setting up the new HEAL project. This has been long in the planning stages, so we'll all be very pleased to have it fully operational soon! But the fullness of the schedule prompted Sue to remind us all that the relationships we develop are more important than any of the specific things we hope to accomplish.

Look for blog posts while we are in Uganda -- we'll do our best to keep you updated.
