| April, 2003 | Richard and Generous Turinawe send out initial letter requests to a variety of organizations asking for help in drafting a mission statement and action plans for improvement of life in Muko sub-county of southwestern Uganda. | |
| March, 2004 | Generous Turinawe begins early program to assist orphans and poor in rural Muko Sub-county Kabale District. Program was named MUDCAP (Muko Destitute Children Assistance Programme). It was recognized as the first and the only local organization giving support to destitute people in Muko village having a great value provided in the entire community. | |
| September, 2006 | Initial visit by John and Sue Waechter to Uganda | |
| October, 2006 | Effort is then named Save Our Situation. First efforts center on 1) Muko HOPE to support orphans whose parents have died from HIV/AIDS 2) Handcrafts for Health, selling baskets made by local women afflicted with HIV/AIDS | |
| July, 2007 | Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church begins involvement with a gift funding a new roof for Muko Ugandan Martyrs Catholic Church | |
| February, 2008 | Second visit by larger team from Memorial Presbyterian Church and St. John's Episcopal to Uganda. Solar panels are installed on Ikamiro health clinic to allow refrigeration of vaccines and other medicines. | |
| March, 2008 | St. Joseph's/St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Auburn MI choose to dedicate their mission collection for this year to Muko Ugandan Martyrs Church. | |
| September, 2008 | Organization name changed to ACT (Agape Community Transformation)in both US and Uganda. | |
| November, 2008 | ACT initiates program to provide seed packets to families. Hope Seeds in Bradenton, FL provides these packets. | |
| January, 2009 | Initial plans are laid for an ACT Centre, located in the Muko Marketplace, to provide education and training as well as a place for income-generating projects to all area residents | |
| September, 2009 | Initial meeting occurs to discuss potential cooperation between ACT and SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) at Alma College. | |
| September, 2009 | Father Bruno Byomuhangi and Mr. Charles Tuhaise, Chair & Vice-Chair of the ACT Uganda Board, visit Midland for two weeks for learning and discussions. | |
| October 2009 | ACT adopts a new infrastructure of a Board and 8 working teams to oversee projects. | |
| January 2010 | Another US Team visits Muko. This team included a senior pastor and a student from SIFE, Alma College. Ecumenical worship services were held in Muko encouraging all pastors/priests to work together with ACT. | |
| January 2011 | Another team visits Muko to focus on training and organizing of the Muko Empowerment Program (MEP) of handcrafts. This team included 2 students from SIFE, Alma and 1 student from Michigan State University. Orphans were given dental exams and the caregivers were instructed in home care techniques. A Master Gardner from the US taught the community gardner about the plants grown with the Hope Seeds and several women were trained on sewing projects. | |
| August 2011 | ACT Michigan becomes a registered non-profit corporation with 501c3 tax exempt status. |
