Ikamiro Church of Uganda A parish of the Anglican Diocese of Kigezi, Kabale district is
located along Kabale-Kisoro road, branching off at Muko market. It is 3 kilometers
away from Muko Market. It started in 1945 with a community of 120 families. It has
grown to 550 families today. It offers services to Adults, the youth, and has a Sunday
school for children. The vision of the church is “To be a vibrant Christ Centered Church
”. The Mission statement reads: “To fulfill Christ’s Mission through holistic teaching,
Evangelism, discipline and healing for healthy and Godly nations.” We have a school
with a Nursery school and a Primary School with seven classes and 540 pupils.
Key challenges in the area include very low levels of education in the community
which result in low income and low investment. There is also poor health due to
HIV/AIDS which affects many people and families.
The parish is currently constructing a bigger church to accommodate the increasing
number of Christians. On behalf of the Christians of Ikamiro Church of Uganda Parish,
I dedicate our thanks and appreciation to friends in
Midland. Thank you so much God bless you.
