Concert Day is Finally Here!

The blog tonight will be short because we are so exhausted!

It was our Muko Concert Day! I am happy to report all went very well. I could not believe how well the students played. They are ready now for more challenge!

The concert was well attended- the Uganda Martyrs students all came since they hosted us at their school. They were a wonderful audience. Sharalyn played the Monti Czardas on clarinet and sounded beautiful. Everyone loved hearing a clarinet. The students played three string orchestra pieces in traditional western style- music reading and all! Then they played several cultural pieces and hymns from memory. They are all darling students, hardworking and ambitious. They worked many many hours this week and after rehearsal just kept going with more practice. They are all developing strong bows and improved technique.

Dave spent some time at Muko HS and also in the office continuing to work on policy, budget and finance for the high school. He is developing a budget for only third term (which begins on Monday).

Sending love to you all- Karen

Some young students showed up today to play on one piece for the concert. They did great!
