A Day Full of Many Different Accomplishments
Hi to all!
We had a complicated morning. We dropped Sharilyn and Will off at the office so they could have a HANDS/ HEAL Day. Sharilyn rode a motorcycle (boda boda) out to see some gardens and attend a HEAL dialogue. Then we drove Dave up to MHS and Generous, Karen, Guma, Josiah, Judith and our new counselor, JUSTINE went to Murole school to see our orphans there. Guma and Christopher traveled back to Kabale where Guma shopped for many various items for the high school. He bought light bulbs, solar power batteries for the girls prep room, and other odds and ends. Then we reversed the process- Guma and Christopher came back to Murole to pick us up, we returned to the AEC, we went up to the HS to pick up Dave and finally all were returned for a meeting at The Centre.
Accomplishments of the day-
*Greeting the Murole Orphans
*Distributing soccer shoes
*Learning from Norman, the Director of Murole Preparatory school a better way to manage finances at MHS ( Dave is Excited!)
*Discussing Muko HOPE Life Pathways plan- a counseling plan for our orphans
And at the end of the day we had our entire staff together to talk aboutMukoHOPE And our way forward.
I must tell everyone about our new counselor , Justine. She is a vivacious, smart woman that we believe our children will grow to love. She accompanied us throughout the day, contributing to all our efforts and learning our routines and methods. Justine is expecting her first baby next month so she is going to work part time, as she is able, and join the staff officially in January.
Dave solved many financial issues today and continued to train Prudance. There were many more unpleasant surprises that took his full attention all day.
We had dinner at the Cephas Inn, including coconut cake!
We hope you are all well! See you soon! Sending love- karen
