MUSIC - Muko Uganda Stringed Instruments for Children
Through MUSIC, ACT envisions developing a community-based performing string orchestra. In July, 2012, recorders, instructional books and lessons were given to seventy orphans in order to teach them to read music. In May, 2013, six violins, books, music stands and supplies were taken to Uganda and used to train older children and adults as leaders of string instruments playing.
Since then, over 50 violins and violas have been donated by individuals and music programs and vendors. Our vision is to combine the traditional orchestral works of the Western world and the tribal and popular works of Africa, representing our partnership.
