New Milestones for ACT MUSIC
This last month of September brought new milestones for ACT MUSIC, our MUko Stringed Instruments for Children program.
Christ Fortunate and program leader Karen Viele completed Book One on cello, and three of the program’s most accomplished students began university studies.
The music continues through regular practice and teaching. Twice-weekly Zoom lessons on Mondays and Thursdays support continued learning, with goals that include advanced study on violin, viola, and cello. In the September update, the team reported that 125 students and community members were continuing to practice and play together.
These milestones reflect the time and effort participants put into their music. We are delighted to celebrate their progress and the dedication of the people who keep lessons and practice going.
To help sustain the program, the MUSIC team is inviting supporters to make a $10 monthly pledge.
This is a special invitation for anyone whose own life was shaped by band or orchestra: consider helping make music a continuing part of someone else’s life.
