In response to the severe drought in Uganda, ACT Uganda developed a one-time emergency food relief plan to supply maize flour, beans, rice, and salt for 158 vulnerable households in Rubanda District—approximately 790 people. The plan was designed to reach families at heightened risk, including households with children, pregnant women, older adults, and people with disabilities.

ACT Uganda’s 23rd anniversary, celebrated on Earth Day, highlights its commitment to long-term, systems-driven solutions that empower communities, restore ecosystems, and address the root causes of climate and development challenges.

In November, ACT Uganda trained 80 community members—organized into four groups of 20—in Bufundi Sub-County through our integrated permagardening, nutrition, and health programs. These trainings focused on building practical skills that strengthen food security, improve health outcomes, and create sustainable livelihoods.
