Progress Underway on the Social Impact Hub Building: Phase 1 Site Preparation in Motion

Exciting progress is being made on the future home of the ACT Social Impact Hub Building!

This new building in Muko, Uganda will house carefully selected social businesses designed to serve the local community while generating sustainable income to support ACT’s long-term mission. As we move forward, our team is thoughtfully evaluating various business opportunities to ensure the final building design aligns with both community needs and ACT’s financial sustainability goals. This planning process is critical — we want to get this right from the start.

While that evaluation continues, Phase 1 of the FUNDS Capital Project officially began on January 2, following approval from the ACT Board. This first phase focuses on essential site preparation, specifically the construction of retaining walls to secure the property and prevent potential erosion damage.

We’re pleased to report strong progress:

  • The side retaining walls facing the neighboring property have been completed.

  • The back retaining walls for both the first and second tiers are approximately halfway finished.

These structural elements are vital to protecting the site and preparing it for future construction phases. Once completed, this groundwork will provide a stable foundation for the Social Impact Hub building itself.

We are encouraged by the steady momentum and hopeful that Phase 1 site preparation will be completed soon. Each step brings us closer to launching a space that will expand opportunity, strengthen the community, and help ACT Uganda grow its impact for years to come.

Thank you for your continued support as we build toward a more sustainable future together.
