Celebrating Gilbert and Daizy: ACT HONOR Scholars and National Merit Recipients
We’re thrilled to introduce Gilbert and Daizy, two of our outstanding ACT Uganda HONOR Scholarship students!
For the first time in ACT’s history, two HONOR students from Muko High School have earned a prestigious national scholarship. We are so proud of Gilbert Tweheyo and Daizy Owamani for achieving a National Merit award which provides a full-ride scholarship to Makerere University in the capital city of Kampala. Makerere is the oldest and largest institution of higher education in Uganda.
Both students will be studying toward a Bachelor of Science in Education – Physical. Daizy plans to become an engineer, and Gilbert is interested in focusing on physics and math. They were awarded the scholarship because of their outstanding results on the Secondary Level 6 examinations that that all Ugandan students take when completing high school.
Gilbert and Daizy extend their thanks to the ACT donors for enabling them to attend school by providing their tuition since their early school years.
We’re so proud of you both — and grateful to our donors for making stories like theirs possible.
